Nationalmuseum is Sweden's leading art and design museum. Employees number around 150 and the museum is a part of the government agency Nationalmuseum med Prins Eugens Waldemarsudde.
Our collections are exhibited on Blasieholmen, in central Stockholm, and at 20 other sites, including Gripsholm Castle, Läckö Castle and Gustavsbergs Porslinsmuseum.
The collection consists of historic paintings, sculpture, prints and drawings and decorative art and design from ancient times to the modern day (the main building i STockholm is closed until 2016 due to renovation). We are also the head of the National Portrait Gallery.
Nationalmuseum run a successful exhibition programme and extensive exhibitions and loans programme and publishing activities. In 2012 the government agency Nationalmuseum med Prins Eugens Waldemarsudde had 904 000 visitors
