Necklace Seawork

by Maria Elmquist

The necklace Seawork, 1993, of gold, silver, stones, corals, mother of pearl etc. is an example of what current silversmiths in Sweden can accomplish.

While Maria Elmquist has previously produced pieces characterised by striking simplicity, she shows here a test of imagination and warmth.

It is easy to imagine how she has captured treasures from the depth of the sea and playfully strung them onto a thin wire.
