The Archives include the public records of the Museum and the Artists Archives.

Due to extensive renovation the Archives are CLOSED and will re-open in the autumn of 2014.

The public records of the museum

The public records contain the continuous records of the Museum’s operations from 1866 to the current period. There are two record groups: Nationalmuseum Sections and Administrative Body.

The Artists Archives

The Artists Archives has been accumulated over the years by museum staff and through acquisitions, gifts and donations. The holdings consists of documentation about artists, individual artworks and buildings. It consists of both correspondence and research work by art historians and museum staff. The Artists Archives has material from the 18th century and on, divided into four collections you can look into here: the Biographical Collection, the Correspondence Collection, the Topographical Collection and the Private Archives.
