Fototeket–photo archive and picture agency

Fototeket is Nationalmuseum’s photo archive and picture agency, containing photos of the museum’s and other art collections. The images are available to the public and may be ordered for study, research or commercial purposes.

Fototeket possesses a unique treasury of images that can illustrate every conceivable subject. We have a wide and varied selection of images of paintings, applied art, sculptures, drawings, graphic art and icons. We also have photos of portraits depicting Swedish subjects or by Swedish artists. Interested users can use our photo collection to obtain a good idea of individual artists’ works or to improve their knowledge of applied art products.

Order images

You can order images from Fototeket’s picture agency. Our knowledgeable staff will be happy to help you find the image you need. You can also search our WebArt image database yourself. Images are usually supplied in digital format but are also available as large transparencies or prints. To order images, please fill in the order form.

The cost of using Fototeket images commercially varies depending on publication method and distribution. Se price list for details.

Photographic Archive

The Photographic Archive contains black-and-white and colour photos of Nationalmuseum’s collections, other museums’ collections and privately owned artworks. It also holds photos documenting the history of Nationalmuseum.

Swedish Portrait Archive (SPA)

SPA documents portraits of Swedish subjects or by Swedish artists. The documentation extends to the present day and covers everything from formal portraits and monumental sculptures to amateur drawings and cut-out silhouettes. There is also a large number of portraits from the national portrait collections.
