FREE ADMISSION FOR SCHOOLS AND SWEDISH LEARNERS
Teacher-led school parties up to upper secondary level enjoy free admission even if some students are over 19. Free admission also applies to teacher-led groups of adult students of Swedish for immigrants or Swedish as a second language. Teachers should obtain a group ticket at the admission desk.

PREBOOK YOUR VISIT
So that you get as much as possible out of your visit, we ask you to book ahead by emailing
. This will enable us to advise you on how many group visits are booked for that date, access to the picnic room and other practical details.
BE CONSIDERATE
Sometimes the galleries are crowded, and the acoustics are poor. Prebooked groups that have paid for a guided tour have priority, so if you’re working in one of the galleries and a group led by one of our education officers comes in, please be considerate. As the teacher, you are responsible for your students throughout the visit.
BORROW CLIPBOARDS
If your students are going to be working on written assignments during their visit to Nationalmuseum, you’re welcome to borrow a set of clipboards. You can pick them up at the admission desk.
PICNICS
Spillages of food and drink can damage the delicate artworks, so visitors are not allowed to take any food or drink into the galleries. You can eat packed lunches in the picnic room outside Ateljén on the main floor. Prebooked groups will have priority.
WHAT CAN WE SEE?
The museum often rehangs works in the galleries to make room for temporary exhibits or new works. So the work you plan to discuss may have been relocated or removed. It’s therefore a good idea to have several options, or to contact the museum before your visit.
TEACHING MATERIALS
Teacher’s guides with suggested exercises are available for some exhibitions and works, currently only available in Swedish. If you have any ideas or requests regarding teaching materials, please let us know by emailing
.
PHOTOGRAPHY
You are allowed to take photographs of Nationalmuseum’s collections (permanent exhibits) for personal use. However, you are not allowed to use a flash, tripod or video camera. The artifacts are delicate, so please don’t get too close. For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to take photos of temporary exhibits, even if you just wish to have a record of your visit.
OTHER INFORMATION
Please see Visit the Museum for details of how to get here and other information.
We look forward to welcoming you and your students to Nationalmuseum!
