The exhibition is closing at 5 pm every day.
Nationalmuseum first opened its doors in 1866. The building has never been renovated.. The National Property Board and Nationalmuseum have developed a proposal for how to preserve this valuable piece of architectural and cultural heritage and bring it up to modern standards. In the vision of a renovated Nationalmuseum, light streams into the building. The original aesthetics, colours and decorative features are highlighted and used to create a diverse range of artistic experiences – a museum in a new light.
Work in Progress is a project to study how Nationalmuseum’s collections can best be displayed in a renovated building. To begin with, we are showing works from the sculpture collection on the theme of light and movement. We shall be changing and developing the exhibition over time.
