Scandinavian Design & USA theme day for the whole family. Enjoy vintage cars, try car croqui or water colour painting. In Swedish we also offer lectures on rolling cultural heritage. Join us on Sunday 17 October. Welcome!
This autumn's major exhibition, Scandinavian Design & USA, takes you on a design-historical journey back and forth across the Atlantic. It tells about the relationship between Scandinavian and North American design for almost a hundred years.
Sunday 17 October, 11:00–16:00
Free admission to the activities during the theme day. Ticket for the exhibition is required.
Five well-maintained vintage cars from the USA and Sweden are displayed on the quay outside the museum. The event is coordinated with the Swedish Motor History Association and their member associations.
Streamlined vintage beauties
Car croqui– draw the cars on the quay
Discover car design and details by drawing. Playful drawing exercises for everyone with the guidance of an art educator out on the quay near vintage cars. Drop-in subject to availability. Tip: participate, draw and share and you will receive an entrance ticket to the exhibition.
13:00–16:00: Family fun in the studios: water colour experiments
Can water be controlled and paint tamed? In the studio on the entrance level, together with the museum's art educators, we explore the possibilities and limitations of water and watercolor on large and small papers. To help us, we have brushes, sponges, spray bottles and pipettes.
Drop-in subject to availability.
