About the event
How can physical activity contribute to inclusive encounters rather than individual achievement? French designer Gabriel Fontana aims to create a more just, safe, and inclusive society. With the goal of freeing the sports field from gender-based and ethnic stereotypes, he has developed a new sport called multiform, in which collaboration and empathy are valued more highly than competition. Fontana graduated from the Design Academy Eindhoven in 2018, and has already completed projects with Nike, for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, and for the Venice Biennale 2025.
Alice Rawsthorn is a highly respected author who has written, among other books, Design Emergency: Building a Better Future (2022), Design as an Attitude (2018), and Hello World: Where Design Meets Life (2013). Together with Paola Antonelli, Senior Curator of Architecture and Design at MoMA in New York, Rawsthorn hosts the podcast Design Emergency, in which they discuss how designers can contribute to positive change.
