Take your group or art association on their own tour where the focus is on crafts, form and design from the late 1800s up to the present day.
The museum collections are presented along an intended timeline that winds through the building and its exhibition halls. Art, crafts and design are shown side by side to provide a deeper understanding of, and more perspectives on, the different eras. This particular tour focuses on the latter part of the timeline. We begin with the emergence of industrialism and the major world exhibitions of the latter half of the 19th century. Through a selection of pieces and stories, we then embark on a journey to see how design had developed in the 1900s and up to the present day.
