Purchase your entrance ticket online or at the museum itself. Your ticket grants you access to all temporary exhibitions as well as our collection displays. Free admission for visitors under the age of 20.
Planning to visit the museum? Please take a look at the rules for what you can bring into the museum, which have been changed for safety reasons.
- Free admission for all to the ground floor, which includes the restaurant, the shop, the studios, the Sculpture Courtyard and the South Courtyard.
- Visiting the museum more than twice in one year? Then getting an annual card will save you money.
Entrance tickets
Your entrance ticket covers all temporary exhibitions and collection displays, and is valid for the entire day. You need an entrance ticket even if you are entitled to free admission (see below).
Buy or book your ticket in advance online, or get it on site at the museum.
Please note that we only accept payment by card or Swish.

Entrance tag
You will get an entrance tag at the ticketing desk when you buy a ticket, or show your pre-booked ticket or annual card. Please wear your tag around the museum, so our staff can easily see that you have a valid ticket.

Entry to the museum is free for:
- Visitors under the age of 20
- Visitors with a Nationalmuseum annual card
- Members of the Friends of Nationalmuseum
- Members of the press with a press card or AICA membership card
- Pre-registered student groups and their teachers. This only applies to students studying a programme that is eligible for a student grant.
- Others: GoCity All Inclusive-Pass, ICOM, ICOMOS, SMI, employees at the Central Museums, personal assistants, asylumseekers with an LMA card issued by the Swedish Migration Agency, authorised guides, tour guides and/together with drivers, Key of Honour - issued by the City of Stockholm, and members of the Royal Acadamy of Fine Arts.
Group discounts
- Groups of 10 or more people get a discount: SEK 110/person.
- Groups of 10 or more students, even if they have not pre-registered their visit, get a discount: SEK 110/person. Can be invoiced afterwards.

Annual card
An annual card lets you visit the museum as often as you like for a whole year, without paying for more than the equivalent of 2.5 visits. The card is valid for 365 days from a date of your choice.
You get free entry to the collections and all temporary exhibitions at both Nationalmuseum and Gustavsberg's Porcelain Museum. (Please note that you will still have to join the queue at the ticketing desk to get your entrance tag.)
You also get a 10% discount on food and non-alcoholic drinks in our restaurant and a 10% discount in our shop (excl. online shops and jewellery from the Torun collection).

- Younger than 26*: SEK 200
*) The annual card is personal and must be presented with an ID each time you visit.
**) Valid student ID (Studentkortet, Mecenat, ISIC) must be presented at the museum each time you visit.
