About Slow Art Day
Did you know that on average visitors to art museums only spend a few seconds looking at an artwork? Looking slowly means that instead of seeing many works, you give more time to a few to really see. This is what Slow Art Day is all about. The concept was born in 2008 in New York and has since spread internationally. This year, nearly 140 museums, art centres and galleries around the world are participating in Slow Art Day.
