About the event
The Italian design duo Formafantasma is among the most influential voices in contemporary design. Alongside collaborations with companies such as Prada, Ferrari, Lobmeyer, and Artek, designers Andrea Trimarchi and Simone Farresin have curated groundbreaking exhibitions and research projects. Their work explores complex and often controversial issues within design, including shortcomings in the global trade of recycled electronic waste and the colonial legacy of the wool and timber industries.
Alice Rawsthorn is a highly respected author who has written, among other books, Design Emergency: Building a Better Future (2022), Design as an Attitude (2018), and Hello World: Where Design Meets Life (2013). Together with Paola Antonelli, Senior Curator of Architecture and Design at MoMA in New York, Rawsthorn hosts the podcast Design Emergency, in which they discuss how designers can contribute to positive change.
