There are several different audio guides to choose from. You’ll find an introduction to the Nationalmuseum as well as guides to selected temporary exhibitions. There are also guides to the museum’s collections and exhibitions shown outside Stockholm.
Hanna Hirsch Pauli – The Art of Being Free
The audio guide for the exhibition about Hanna Hirsch Pauli features thirteen tracks, each focusing on a different artwork—exploring their creation and how they were received by contemporary critics and the cultural establishment. Through readings of excerpts from letters to and from Hanna Hirsch Pauli, you’ll get a unique opportunity to get to know her, both as a person and as an artist. Listen at the exhibition, on the bus, or from the comfort of your home!

An introduction to Nationalmuseum
This audio guide highlights a selection of must-see works! The tour begins among the sculptures in the Upper Stair Hall and continues through the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries.

The Timeline exhibition, which presents the collections chronologically, includes plenty of information on historical periods, styles, and objects. You can also read more about the exhibitions in the Sculpture Courtyard, the Design Depot, and the Treasury. Enjoy the read before or after your visit.
Number codes – for those who want to know more
Some of the museum’s display cases are packed with objects. There’s a lot to discover. Enter the number codes on the case labels to access detailed information about what you see.
How to use the app
Navigate the app using the icons at the bottom. Tap the “eye” symbol for introductions, texts, and image lists related to current exhibitions. In the Treasury and Design Depot—where objects are numerous and densely displayed—traditional object labels have been replaced by more extensive information in the app.
The headphones symbol takes you straight to the audio guide tours.
Other icons include the “heart,” which collects your marked favorites, and the “keypad,” where you can enter number codes from labels and signage for deeper insights, short stories, and further reading.
