Book a private tour for your group or art association and join us on a tour through Nationalmuseum with a focus on the history of the museum building and the major renovation that took place in 2013-2018. Why is the museum located opposite the royal palace? Which parts are most similar to what met visitors at the opening in 1866 and what are the biggest changes at the new opening in 2018?

In this tour, we look at how the museum's more than 150-year history is reflected in the architecture, the functions of the rooms and how the renovation met the old 19th-century building with new technology, colours and furnishings. The exhibition areas have become larger, which makes it possible to show more art. The previously covered windows have been opened up and now let in light and views of the city. Hear more about how the art collections interact with the building, as we walk through the various parts of the museum, starting in the new sculpture hall.

Due to security reasons, and to ensure that you have the best possible experience on the tour, this number may not be exceeded. If the group is larger when it arrives at the museum, the excess members may not participate in the tour.

Booked tour=go ahead of the line

Participants of a booked group tour are prioritized if a queue has formed. Take the entrance to the right and present your booking confirmation to the stationed host or security guard.

Cancellations and changes

Please note that cancellations and changes regarding your reservation must be made in good time. Cancellations which are made closer than 2 weeks before your visiting date will be charged with the full amount.
