The American Friends of the Nationalmuseum of Sweden Foundation

Nationalmuseum have a responsibility to stimulate and integrate international and intercultural exhange. With the foundation American Friends, the museum will be able to deepen and develop cooperations with museums and institutions around the world.

The American Friends of Nationalmuseum was founded in the spring of 2017. The board is located in New York City, USA. The amibition is to strenghten development and cooperation between Sweden and USA through Nationalmuseum. More specifically, the American Friends will support the museum, contribute to acquistitions and develop trans-Atlantic partnerships and cooperations. The mission is to further enhance and increase understanding and appreciation of art and design.

The chairman of the board is David Dangoor, Innovative Partners LLC. Board member are Anders Holst, Unheard of Music LLC, Barbro Osher, honorary consul, Sweden's general consulate San Francisco, Birgitta Castenfors, Acting Director General  Nationalmuseum and Bengt Sjögren, Interverbum Technology. Peppe Bergström Hesselbom is adjunct to the board.
