Hair – Fresh 2 Death
Fresh 2 Death is about hair as expression, risk, and memory. Throughout history, hairstyles have been able to grant you status — or cost you your life. A covered scalp, a braid, a curl, a turban, a dreadlock — each has, at some point, been interpreted, regulated, or banned.
In this context, Fresh 2 Death represents the tension that arises when the personal becomes political: being so original that power reacts. Here, hair is not an accessory, but part of your identity — the body’s most political expression. We highlight how hair carries history, trauma, pride, and survival. Something so close to the body can be both your crown and your danger.
For Fresh 2 Death, Third Culture Kids (TCK) have invited the Swedish-Venezuelan photographer Patricia Reyes, and Klara Kassman, artist and fashion designer, as collaborators. Together, they take hair beyond hairstyle — as culture, as a language of resistance, pride, and self-definition.
About Patricia Reyes
Patricia Reyes is a Swedish-Venezuelan photographer and creative director whose work merges Scandinavian minimalism with Latin American warmth. She moves seamlessly between fashion, portrait, and documentary photography, with a distinctive sense for light, color, and authenticity. Patricia’s portfolio reflects her commitment to pushing artistic boundaries, marked by a striking blend of rawness, elegance, and timeless beauty.
Her work has been featured in renowned publications such as Vogue Scandinavia, The Greatest, The New York Times, Bon Magazine, Metal Magazine, Dazed, and S Magazine, among others.
On this evening, you can view six photographic works by Reyes in the South Light Hall on the entrance floor.
About Klara Djamila Kassman Soukkan
Klara Djamila Kassman Soukkan (b. 1994) is a Stockholm-based artist working with materials through weaving, knitting, and finger crochet. Using recycled and organic materials, she explores power structures, social dilemmas, and sustainability. Her work moves between art, craft, and fashion — a practice that both operates within and questions the system it inhabits.
On this evening, you can experience her work Djurisk mänsklighet/Human Faux in the large elevator behind the South courtyard.
Work by Klara Djamila Kassman Soukkan presented at the Konstfack web site.
About Third Culture Kids
Third Culture Kids (TCK) is a Swedish brand founded in 2022 with the goal of redefining what “home” can feel like. The name refers to people who have grown up at the intersection of multiple cultures — an identity formed beyond both their parents’ origins and the surrounding society.
Third Culture Kids exists to bring people together, deepen understanding, and strengthen its role as a voice for stories, perspectives, and hope for the future. They design clothes and objects and create experiences in spaces inspired by growing up between cultures.
