Digital developments have significantly impacted the landscape of museums and their operations – not only enhancing the ways in which museums engage with their audiences but also reshaping the ways that of museums work. The digital conference "Museums as Laboratories: A Scandinavian Perspective," aims to highlight institutions that have shifted from traditional roles to dynamic entities that actively re-think and innovate in the sphere of digital development.
The gathering will feature projects that are live, tangible experiments that shed light on both the successes and the inevitable challenges of venturing into new digital terrains.
The conference will feature the unveiling of three digital prototypes, fruits of an international fellowship at the Nationalmuseum of Sweden. Nationalmuseum is also privileged to have speakers Birgitte Sauge from the National Museum in Oslo and Freyja Rut Emilsdóttir from the Museum "1238 – The Battle of Iceland" to share their expertise.
