What does a face say? What does a glance reveal?

In the exhibition Portraits! we explore the role of the portrait through the ages, from the faces of power to everyday expressions. Classic masterpieces meet contemporary interpretations in a rich presentation of the many functions of the portrait: identity, status, intimacy, and narrative.

A group tour gives you the opportunity to delve deeper into the exhibition's content, themes, and works together. Our art experts guide you through the history and significance of portraiture – with room for conversation, reflection, and new perspectives.

Bookable times

Group tours can be booked starting Tuesday, November 11.

• • Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday: 11:30–15:30
  • Thursday: 11:30–19:30
  • Saturdays and Sundays: 11:30–15:30

The tour lasts approximately 60 minutes.

Number of participants

Maximum 20 people per group.

For safety reasons and to ensure you have an optimal experience, we do not offer tours to groups of more than 20 people. If you arrive at the museum with a larger group, extra participants will not be able to participate in the tour.

Prices

    Tours in Swedish: SEK 2,500
    Tours in languages other than Swedish: SEK 3,000
  • Thursdays from 16:00, and weekends
    Tours in Swedish: SEK 3,500
    Tours in languages other than Swedish: SEK 4,000

Payment

You can pay by invoice after the tour, or by card or Swish right before the tour at the museum's ticketing desk.

Group tour participants get to skip the queue at the main entrance. Simply take the entrance to the right and show your booking confirmation to our staff.

Cancellations and changes

If you wish to cancel or change your reservation, you must notify bokningen@nationalmuseum.se no less than 2 weeks before your visit.

You will be charged the full price of the tour if you cancel less than 2 weeks before your visit.
